I can’t believe we are at the end of our school year already. The last sixteen weeks have been very strange for all of us, but as a true school community, we have pulled together and tried our best. I have enjoyed setting art activities that could be adapted by everyone at home, depending on what we had to hand. I’ve been blown away by the art sent to me and have loved getting to know your families better as emails were exchanged. These are the final art activities of the school year, I hope you’ll enjoy them…

How exciting, it’s move up week and your home learning page has been taken over by your new teachers, eager to get to know you all a little better before September and the new school year.

Week four of our final half term of the year. It was lovely to see photos of the reception and year one children enjoying being back in school with their friends and teachers. I’m looking forward to viewing more this coming week along with photographs of brilliant work form our Home Learners.

In Art…

It is very exciting as the school welcomes back more children through it’s doors, a slightly different school for now, but still with all your happy, smiling teachers. For those still accessing your learning from home, not to worry as your teachers are working hard to give you the same fabulous learning but online.

Half term is here already, a little break and rest from our Home Learning. This week…

Home Learning summer week 4

I’m missing you all so much I thought this week we could be there for each other. This week I’d like you to decorate a heart (either print out, screenshot and use iPad, or re draw) and write a message to your classmates and teachers.

Be kind to yourself, you’re doing the best you can! I miss you all so much, I would love to be in The Create room sharing our Art lessons together, learning and laughing together, but for now we must stay safe at home. Each week I have tried to find you all art activities that everyone can do, no matter what we have at home. You were all given a book for your art and as long as you have a pen or pencil you can do my sessions. I have loved receiving your emails and photos. The work you are producing is fantastic. Keep at it, keep sharing, so we can celebrate our creativity together.

in Art this week…

Everyone this week has been set a 3D art activity. Below I have added recipes for home made clay and salt dough (something to suit everyone, take a look at each one before deciding). You can of course use store bought clay if you have some. If you have children in different year groups, it might be worth while having one big session and make double the clay.

The weeks are passing so quickly and we all miss our school family, but I can honestly say that your emails, messages, beautiful art work and photos of our new way of learning, have brought us closer.

In Art…

I am missing our Art lessons, I am missing our Create room, I am missing our school family. Thank goodness for E-mail, I adore getting your messages, the photographs of your artwork and your funny stories. I really like the picture at the top of my blog this week. We all have those days where we don’t want to, or feel we can do anything, have a look, what step have you been sat on this week? How can you move up the steps, how can we help each other take a chance? Tomorrow is always another day, a chance to start again.

Well, we should have been starting our Food Technology this week and I am so sad that we can not do this, but we can still do fabulous Art activities.

As we settle into home learning, we realise what we miss the most, I miss the ‘hello’s’ and the stories, the hugs and the happy faces of successful learning from our children. I miss all the staff at Our Lady’s, the support and kindness. But I also have found it in other ways, the internet is the most wonderful invention, we keep in contact with loved ones. I have daily facetime with my Mum, who lives around 300 miles away. i have lovely emails with your art and chat. We have our whole school community in prayer each night. It is often in the darkest skies, we find the brightest stars…

This is a very strange week, as we prepare for the unknown. We are all in the same boat and need to work together and help each other where we can. As from 3.30 today school is now closed to the majority of us and we are led by our Government for instruction and guidance. Here at Our Lady’s, we truly do love each other and mean it when we say, if we can help, we will. All class teachers will be writing a daily teaching blog for the children to do at home.

I also will be creating an ART activity blog for each class on the day they normally have art with me….
