We have had a wonderful week in Year one and have enjoyed lots of happy time playing on the field, in the sunshine. The children have returned from their Easter break, refreshed and full of enthusiasm for growing their brains.

We have certainly made the most of the sunshine this week!

The children have been full of smiles this week and have been so compassionate towards each other.

What a sunny week we have had in Year 1!

This past week is one, I know I will never forget. Seeing the children’s little faces light up with smiles, when they saw their friends and teachers, filled me with hope for the future.

It feels like a long time in the making but I can hardly believe this chapter has come to an end. I am beyond excited to have the children back on Monday.

Children, this week has whizzed by! You have all continued to wow me with your enthusiasm for learning and determination to grow your brains.

I can hardly believe I am writing my final blog of this half term. The past six weeks have certainly been different and have challenged us all in different ways. I could not be prouder of the children; they have all thrown themselves into their learning and so much learning has happened.

Year 1, we could not have had a better start to February! This week, you have all been such brave Tommy Turtles and have thrown yourself into every learning challenge I have set.

Doesn’t time fly when you’re busy growing your brain! This week has flown by and I can hardly believe we will be in February next week

I have been bursting with pride for the Year 1 Children this week. We have had another wonderful week of growing our brains and the quality of the work has been amazing.

From Sock Monsters to weather reports, this week has been jam packed with learning. Whether you have been learning remotely or in school, one thing is for certain, a lot of learning has been happening.

Learning apart, but together in our hearts.

Good morning Year 1!

To all of my wonderful Year 1 families, I just want to say thank you. I am beyond grateful for all of the extra learning you do with the children at home; I know how much the children love sharing their learning with you. They have made wonderful progress since September and every step has been magical. I could not be prouder of them!

Today we had our Christmas jumper day, full of festive cheer! The children had so much fun on their Christmas Treasure Hunt. It was so wonderful watching them work co-operatively together to fill Santa’s beard.

We have had such a lovely week in Year 1, reflecting on the birth of Jesus and the beginning of Advent. The children have written their own advent promises, along with a prayer to God, thanking him for the miracle of Jesus’ birth.

This week has flown by and I can hardly believe we’re nearly in December! One of my highlights this week has been watching the children at break times. It has been wonderful to see the children all playing kindly and co-operatively together.

The children have worked so hard this week and have really challenged their brilliant brains, especially in maths! On Tuesday we had Online Safety Day. We had lots of discussion about communicating online and the importance of always being kind. The children then sent emails to story book characters, such as The Big Bad Wolf and Goldilocks. It was lovely to see how these children communicated kindly even though they didn’t agree with the choices of these characters.

We have had a wonderful week in year 1. Our lessons on remembrance, have been particularly thought provoking and touching to the year 1 children.
