Growing a loving community

You are precious in my eyes

At Our Lady Star of the Sea we continuously strive to guide the children to the understanding that each person they meet is ‘precious in God’s eyes’ and therefore each person is unique and should be valued and loved for who they are. We know that in experiencing love for ourselves we begin to love others and therefore we have to nurture and grow a loving community in which we are all valued.

Jesus challenges us all to love deeply; to love in the way that he loves. In all our thoughts, words and actions we are called to be Christ: ‘I give you a new commandment: that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you should also love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples.’ (John 13:34-35)

“Christ has no body on earth now but yours, no hands but yours, no feet but yours; yours are the eyes through which he looks with compassion on the world; yours are the feet with which he walks to do good; yours are the hands with which he blesses all the world.”
St Teresa of Avila
