Maths

We have now finished our statistics learning so I would like you to have a go at the sheet attached below. I would like to see how much you have learned and if there are any areas we need to go over when we return to school, so please try your best to complete the questions independently. Remember, however, that grown ups can read the questions to you.

The questions are available to complete below or on Purple Mash. If your child completes the work on a sheet, please could you send a photograph of their work to my email. Thank you in advance.
If your child does need support on any of the question, please put a ‘s’ next to the relevant question.

English

I can’t wait to see how you improve the Boar Park’s leaflet! Have fun!

RE

Think about the word ‘Celebration’.  When might we use it? Why do we use it?  Think of examples of when we might celebrate something.  What do we do when we celebrate?  What are the different events we celebrate?  What do we celebrate in school?
Can you create a spider diagram containing all of the different things that you celebrate? I’ve created an example below for you.

Celebration is a sign that we are happy about something - and we show our joy in a particular way or in many different ways.
Read the information below.

Before Jesus died he gave the apostles the power to change the bread and the wine into his body and blood—that is into Him.  We continue to see bread and wine - but we believe that in these Jesus is truly present.  This is a mystery that we cannot understand but we believe it because Jesus told us.  Because Jesus is God he can bring about what he says.

When we go to Mass we celebrate that Jesus rose from the dead, he is now in heaven, but in a mysterious way, he is truly present on the altar.  When we listen to the readings we hear about his life and what he wants to teach us.

This term we are going to be learning about the Church and what happens when we go to Church.

Activity

Today, I would like to see what you already know. I would like you to draw a picture of a Church and what you can remember is inside a Church. Maybe you could imagine yourself stood inside Our Lady Star of the Sea church and look around. Can you remember the names of any of the things you have drawn in your picture? Can you label these?

Can you remember any of the things that are said during mass, either by the Priest or us in the congregation? Can you put these around your drawing of a church?

Don’t forget to send me a photograph of your drawings in your books. I can’t wait to see them!

Reading

Remember to read for at least 30 minutes today. All online reading help can be found in ‘How to help your child’.

Have a wonderful weekend!
