Year 4 Weekly blog Friday 31st March. "Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much."

March 31, 2023 angela lyons

Our school is an amazing place - I could not agree more with Rex’s beautiful statement above! We have had such a super week - busy, exciting and full of learning. Children have truly let their little lights shine - even in the rain and wind on our Rocks trip on Tuesday.

Despite the wind and rain, children learned so much and still managed an ice-cream! We examined buildings in the square to see which rocks they were built from and if there was any weathering. We also found fossils in the rocks past the YMCA swimming pool.

We had an excellent session this week in music, where children made up their own compositions on Charanga and then wrote them on the stave. It was so lovely to see the children working together so co-operatively this week in all they have done. From looking after partners on the school trip to analysing rocks afterwards. They care for each other so well and are trying hard to be ‘Christ’s body here on Earth,’ as we have discussed each day in our worships. As you know, we have had our ‘special visitors’ this week and children have done us proud, voicing their enthusiasm for their learning and their school. Thank you all so much for your loving words and your survey feedback too.

Let’s Celebrate!

This week, double whammy certificates have gone to Sophia and Michael. The whole class are impressed so much with your consistent effort and focus. You are both a delight to teach.

Music stars were Rafe, Dominic and Esther for working together so beautifully to make a super composition on the computer.

PE stars the whole class - super focus and effort

Swimming Stars - the whole class again - for cheering each other on and having a good, healthy competition in water polo -boys against girls!

Grateful and Generous butterflies

This week we thank Bella, Esther and Cora for being generous. It was so kind of you to offer your gloves to other children in the class who were cold on our trip.
