Have a Happy and Holy Christmas - from all of the team in Year 2!

What a fun week! The joy of Christmas and the birth of a child is so special and we have filled our final days with kindness, creativity and joy. All the children are ready now to spend quality time with family, rest and reflect on a wonderful term. Each day amongst the celebrations we have come together to worship Jesus - “The Light of the World”. May his light shine in all your homes this holiday and into the new year.

Magic Moments:

So many this week. Watching our older siblings and friends in Key Stage 2 singing in church was wonderful. On Monday morning we completed a STEM challenge. The children had 8 lolly sticks and a roll of masking tape. They had to make antlers strong enough to hold a selection of Christmas decorations (some particularly heavy) - what fun we had - pictures below. We also found time to create party spreadsheets in computing and take part in a variety of Christmas crafts - what a creative class!

And of course we partied the morning away on Wednesday. Gosh what a smart group of party people we made - and you will never guess who came to visit? FATHER CHRISTMAS! Luckily he hung around for individual photos - all here below!

Time to Celebrate

This week Mrs Gregan has asked the children for their input when it comes to celebrating learners! We have all reflected on our peers and thought carefully about who in our class has demonstrated creative, focused and determined approaches to learning - we completed a secret ballot.

Congratulations to RUTH and MARLA!

I would like to add too that it has been a joy to teach you all this half term and I know Mrs Manno, Mrs Johnson and I can’t wait to get stuck into the learning when you all return!
