Year 6 Homework Week 1

Homework usually should be completed and brought back to school for the following Wednesday

English - Reading - Read, read, read, read every single day! We now have completed our Star Reading quiz and have new ZPD’s for the term, we have chosen our books- who will be the first to get 100% of their target?

Spellings

Spellings will be practised throughout the week, both at school and at home. These will be a combination of past spellings/ phonics, retreival of vital spelling rules and new spelling patterns. Sometimes there may even be a quiz for you to complete on Purple Mash. We will then have a quiz in class on a Thursday once you have spent a good amount of time practising these spellings throughout the week. These spellings are in your homework books.

Decorate your homework book

Please back your homework book and clearly label with your name- it would be lovely to add some detail that showed me who you are and what you like, whilst also protecting it as it comes back and forth to school.

Optional Homework

Have you never been a Class Councillor? Would you like this opportunity in your final year at Our Lady’s? Now is your chance …

If you would like to be considered in our class votes then you need to prepare a short speech, presentation or poster that outlines why your class should vote for you and why you would be good at the job. We are voting next Thursday, so make sure you prepare and bring in everything you need before this day.

Eco- Councillors and PLay Councillor

Could you write a paragraph about why you would like to be either a Play or Eco Councillor and why you think you would be good at this role? What do you see yourself doing and how could you help? These will be going to the leaders of this council so please either type this up or write on a separate piece of paper so they can be handed to the leaders to read through.
