Year 1 Weekly Blog - Friday 13th December

Wow! What a week!!

This has by far been my favourite week of the term! Very tiring and a little bit nerve wracking, but the children exceeded ALL of my expectations this week and they got better and better as the week went on. I am SO proud, I may have even had a little happy cry at the end of each performance…

Their singing was loud and beautiful, their happy faces throughout filled me with pride. It was my first Nativity and I am so pleased with how everything turned out, it is definitely something I will never forget.

Not only are the staff very proud of the children and of course you as parents, but the children were so proud of themselves and this was celebrated with a big cheer and group hug on Thursday morning after our last performance.

Thank you to yourselves for practising at home with your children, helping them to be the best that they can be and coming to support us during our performances, your support is so appreciated.

Now onto the bit you’ve been waiting for… the pictures! The children all looked gorgeous in their costumes and stepped into character as soon as they put them on! A pre warning for the group photo, not all children were smiling as we were so tired by the end, but it is a full class photo.

Another week of our advent calendar went great! The children loved wearing the Christmas hat for the morning.

On Friday we completed our Prayer station Pilgrimage with our partner class Year 5.

Friday was also our Christmas Jumper day and bake off! Thank you to everyone for your money and for taking part, and well done to our winners!

We had a great day full of cake, smiles and laughter.

Lets celebrate!

Our lunchtime winners this week are… George and Mia! Our role model was George and Mia had excellent manners. Well done you two!

Well done to Hector for winning our class bake off, and to Kian who recieved the family bake off award!

Congratulations to the whole class for your excellent participation in a very tiring week. It has been a long, but fun filled week.

I hope you have a lovely restful weekend, ready for the last week of term! Christmas memory week… The children will come home at the end of the week with some beautiful things to share with you for all the years to come.

I look forward to seeing your smiling faces on Monday morning!
