Year 2 Weekly Blog week ending 2nd February "Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much"

Firstly, a massive thank you to Mr Grifffin, Mrs Johnson and Mrs Maano for all their hardwork. Mrs Griffin has led with enthusiasm and the children have responded in kind.

The children have been hard at work writing a book review in detail all about one of our favourite reads this year “The Great Fairy Tale Adventure” by D Conway and M. Williamson. Next week we are writing our own Fairy Tale Adventure! In Maths we have been exploring addends (a number added to another). We have explored the addition of three numbers and how this can be done in a any order. In science we have explored healthy meals and planned one of our own - this will be part of our home learning next week. We continued being “curious about countries” exploring in school this time countries - in the Americas!!

NEXT WEEK:

Next Tuesday is National Internet Safety Day - and the children will be joining in a live lesson with the BBC. But we have made E-safety a focus for the whole week, so we have short discussion sessions planned plus lessons on: sending emails, using filters and sharing online. We are keen to emphasise the age appropriateness of games and apps.

On Monday we have ENRICHMENT afternoon, when we are taught by one of the other teachers in school. This Monday it will be Mrs Naylor in Year 3 and she’ll be teaching us sewing/crafts - exciting!

We are hoping the rain stays away as we will be orienteering around school - on different days - so coats hats and gloves will be needed.
