Year 2 weekly blog 8th March "There is no friend as loyal as a book!"

What a wonderful week! I’m sure you’ll enjoy the magic moments this week - we have uploaded two lovely films.

As we move towards Easter, the children have further explored what happened in the final week of Jesus’ life. We discovered that Jesus went to the garden of Gethsemane after the Last Supper and from there was arrested. This shocked the children as they discovered he was taken away when he had done nothing wrong. “But why?” they asked. We also read about St. Peter who followed his best friend and then denied knowing him. Now we turn to the crucifixion - when Jesus died for us.

Celebrating great books was the theme of the week - and so we explored our favourite stories from the bible too. Mrs H read David and Goliath and our Worship Group (Ruth, Eliza and Xander) choose Jesus’ parable “The Lost Sheep”.

MAGIC MOMENTS

Researching independently in English and applying all our number fact skills to adding and subtracting large numbers in maths. Fun in science and deep conversations in RE. Working in teams for outdoor Adventure (finding jigsaw pieces hidden in the grounds). Thursday was full of excitement and fun as we all dressed up and told stories. Finally, we were thrilled with our Glockenspiel performances in Music - see our films below.
