Did you know we are now in Eastertide? A period of 50 days after Easter in which we see Jesus show us that He was alive. But how did he do this? In whole class liturgy this week we looked at John’s gospel and reflected on our ongoing friendship with the risen Jesus. In this gospel, Jesus shared a miraculous breakfast with His disciples and we discussed how we can trust that He will always provide for our needs… because he loves us always!
Continuing to learn…
We only have one more (short) week until SAT’s. It is vital over this long weekend that children continue to revise and work towards their targets. I have set some papers to complete over the week for children to have a go at, but there are other areas that are unique to them as individuals that they know they also have to practice. Please have a look at the homework page and have the conversation with them to see how best to support them with their revision. This week we have had a practise SAT’s week, where every day they have took one mock, whether this is independently or in partners. We are so proud how they have tackle this with such a positive attitude and resilience!
English - This week we have revised our determiners and prepositions!
Maths - We have tackled some tricky ratio problems with Mrs Harrison, revised BODMAS with Mrs Barker and also revised converting measures, which we will contunue next week.
Delving deeper through talk ….
What do you think certain items around your houehold weighs or measures? Can you convert these measurments, for example weigh in grams and kg?
With only one week left until SAT’s what is the one area you want to practise and master? How can your parent help you?
Curious and Active stars
This half term we will be on the lookout for all the children that are curious in their , finding God in all things. Those who are active, who use their learning for the common good. Those who learn through actively engaging through probing, seeking, asking, challenging and questioning until the truth is plain. These children are the role models of the school, who drive their own learning and who have the wisdom to know when and how to apply one’s learning. This week we thank Michael for being both curious and wise.
Leading Learners
Well done to Bella this week.
Bella It is so important to apply the skills you have been taught and to do this independently- you have shown that you CAN. You have learnt to be thorough, take your time but mostly believe in yourself as you can do anything you put your mind to! Well done for reflecting on feedback and doing what you can to improve. You are also very honest about what you need to work on and are always happy to share this, ready to rise to a challenge.
