Welcome to a new school year and to Year 3.
We hope you’ve all had an amazing summer break and are looking forward to welcoming you all back into school on Tuesday morning. We hope you’re as excited as us about year 3, you’ll be learning French for the first time and going swimming every week.
Here is some information to help you get organised and ready for Year 3.
You can bring your own pencil case to school but this needs to be small enough to fit in your chair pocket. Please do not bring any equipment in your pencil case - we will provide all pens, pencils, erasers etc
You will also need a water bottle - this should be small enough to fit on our water bottle trolley.
Outside PE lessons are on Monday, so you need to come in wearing your PE tracksuit.
Swimming lessons will be on Thursday morning but will not start until the second week back. For your swimming lessons you will need to bring a towel and swimwear - girls should wear a one piece swimsuit, boys may wear swimming trunks or shorts. Girls must wear swimming caps. You will not need to bring any shampoo or shower gel. If you would like to wear goggling during your lesson, a form must be filled in, these will be given out on Friday. Graham, the swimming teacher, from the YMCA will be coming to speak to us on Thursday 4th September and will be able to answer any questions you have.
We recommend that no earrings are worn on PE days to save your child needing to take them out.
Art is on a Tuesday with Mrs Mather. Please bring an art shirt/t-shirt to keep in your trays, to cover your uniform in messy lessons.
Homework will be sent home on a Wednesday and should be brought back into school by the following Tuesday.
Please remember to label all of your uniform - this is even more important this year as we will be getting changed for swimming.
We can’t wait to see you all next week!
