Massive thank you to you all for the wonderful turn out at the maths worskshop!
This week we started our new RE topic “Prophet to Promise”. We learned that a prophet is a messenger- a special messenger from God. We knew some famous prophets such as Moses and Noah, but also learned about Isaiah. Isaiah spoke about a woman who would have a son and he would be called Emmanuel (God is with us). We realised this was a message about Mary and Jesus. In his words Isiaah uses the image of dark and light and how this special light is coming. The light is Jesus! Alongside these lovely RE lessons we were led by Rose, Emmett and Theo as they shared their beautiful worship all about remembering those who are already in heaven. Then on Wednesday Mrs mather joined us to reflect on the poppy as a symbol of rememberance. Here is our amazing painting which will be displayed around school (before coming home).
GOING DEEPER IN CONVERSATION
This week we started our My Happy Mind lessons. This week we learned there are three parts to the brain. See if your child can remember the 3 parts and what each part does. Here is an image of the three parts which we call team HAP

MAGIC MOMENTS OF LEARNING
So many fantastic moments of learning this week! We have planned a whole fairytale with a twist and we will be writing it next week. We will be challenging ourselves to write a “when sentence” in our story- we have been saying and writing sentences that open with when. For example - When Jack’s mother saw the magic beans, she threw them out of the open window! In maths we have made the link between Whole Part Part models and addition and subtraction equations. Mrs Mather led our shape lesson then our wonderful artsession, while Mrs Gregan taught us computing - what a treat! We’ve also auditioned for our Nativity and we’ve nearly cracked the first song! On Thursday we looked at maps and photos of St Annes as we started our new Geography topic and on Friday we reinforced our understanding of how plants and animals need one another. As you can see we dived straight back in to the learning!
LET’S CELEBRATE
This week our Virtue Star is George. This half term we are being faithfilled and hopeful. George you have been so thoughtful, full of hope and friendship - thank you!
I think the whole class could guess to whom the learning certificate would go to this week. Yes it is Mia. Mia has been so incredibly focused, enthusiastic and reflective!
