Year 2 Weekly Blog Friday December 12th "We have come to worship him!"

Unto us a child is born unto us a child is given (Isaiah 9:6)

We do hope that you thoroughly enjoyed our wonderful nativity play. We absolutely loved performing for everyone. In all my years of teaching a play has never run so smoothly!! The stage spilled over with fun, laughter and joy! We wanted to make memories and we hope we succeeded. There is no doubt that the children have a deeper understanding of the events of that special night. The love Jesus brought was felt in each one of us, as we supported each other through each performance.

Even though He was the King of Kings, He came as a tiny baby, so everyone could come close to Him.

GOING DEEPER IN CONVERSATION

Thank you for sharing the travelling nativity. The children just love to know when it’s their turn. Stories about Christmas are magical. Do you remember the story of the little drummer boy. I’ve attached it here for you to watch together and then think what talent you would perform for the little baby!

MAGICAL MOMENTS OF LEARNING

Learning and performing the play dominated our week. Put we still managed to catch up on our numberline work- bridging through ten. We also wrote letters as the wisemen - sharing our adventure. In RE we revisited the nativity scripture and in PE we joined Year 1 for some fun ball skills! Today we were invited to Forest school to share a story around the campfire-we loved it! We finished the story of Toad Hall and we now want to write a chapter of our own. The bake off was great fun - needless to say we all filled up on sugar and had a good run round!! Finally, we got to share all the wonderful images you have sent of achievements holidays and nativity (sorry for the delay).

TIME TO CELEBRATE

It was almost impossible for us to choose the star and certificate winners this week and if we could we would have choosen the whole class. However, we couldn’t invite everyone to the assembly!

This week our vitue star is Bertie. When Mrs Gregan explained to the children on Wednesday that they had to do the play again on Thursday. Bertie buzzed with excitement and he muffled a very enthusiastic “Yes!” this self believe has carried us all- thank you!

For being enthusiastic throughout every practice and never complaining when his knee was causing him pain - Theo. You made a great Joseph Theo - Thank you!

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

I’ve had a request from Eliza and Izzy - for baby pictures. They have a memory from reception when they play a game - guess the baby. They would love to play it again and next week would be a good time. If you are able send a picture via email and I’ll share.
