Welcome Back!
I know you all had a lovely break as the children have shared all their adventures with us.
As we journey through life with our wonderful families we have have begun our final RE topic “Dialogue and Encounters”. We have met the inspirational St. Francis who opened his heart to the Holy Spirt and embraced each one of It’s gifts. Then Miss Bassett taught us the parable of the Good Samaritan. We understand that a parable is a special story told by Jesus. Jesus used these stories to help us understand God and how much he loves us. During the lesson we created story fans and they came home to share.
Then in an act of great love and celebration we worked together on our Sports Day. Thank you for cheering us on - you were great. We had so many pictures we’ve made a montage - enjoy!
GOING DEEPER IN CONVERSATION
Today - Mrs Mather led our learning and we revisited “The Brain” in our- My Happy Mind- lesson. We reflected on the different parts of the brain and how they work together. We also remembered how the brain grows and how important challenges are to help this happen. I’ve linked the little film we watched at the end of the lesson - why not watch together and chat
MAGICAL MOMENTS OF LEARNING
This week we returned to addition and subtraction strategies in maths. We have been using those known facts. Do you remember all those games I sent home to play? Well we are calling on these facts- continually - relying on what we know and making connections (moving away from concrete support including fingers). The children, on the whole, were super confident! In English we went back to the Cave of Wonder with Aladdin we have write a persuasive letter and our three wishes! The wishes were wonderful! Mrs Mather has inspired use with food menus in DT. In addition, we’ve had double music with Miss Woodend and then through digital composing in ICT too! I never mention the spelling - but we complete 20 minutes of interactive spelling everyday- super focus!! We also made cards for some very special people we love so I hope these find their way to you too!
LET’S CELEBRATE
This week our VIRTUE STAR is Emilia. This half term the virtues we are aspiring to embrace are Love and Compassion. Emilia you were so loving and compassionate as you helped a fellow team mate on Sports Day - thank you.
The Learning Certificate goes to Eliana - all you need to know Eliana is your answers in class this week brought a tear to my eye! So proud!
