During our RE lessons this week we continued to reflect on the Parable of the Good Samaritan. This time we thought about the qualities a Good Samaritan has and how they are always ready to come to the help of others. We talked about self sacrifice and being generous to others. Then today we made little first aid kits full of the qualities we need to be a Good Samaritan. A parable always holds a message from Good and we have understood that Jesus was using the Good Samaritan as a perfect example of how he wants us to act towards any person.
Everyone in the world is our neighbour!
Our class worship this week focused on being generous with a smile- first rule of being a wonderful neighbour. I would like to say that during both worships this week children have read beautifully!
GOING DEEPER IN CONVERSATION
Statement explored in science explored in class: The older the person the taller they are. We wanted to see if the oldest people in class were the tallest. Can you measure the height of your family? How many centimeters tall is everyone?
Make a table oldest to youngest and then another of tallest to shortest - do they match???
MAGICAL MOMENTS OF LEARNING
We’re studying Humans and Animals in science. We have reflected on how different some life cycles are this week. Later we’ll be exploring what all animals including humans need to survive. The children completed some very tricky subtraction work at the beginning of the week (see homework) and then we moved onto our final topic fractions. We love these! Mr Nay and Mr Murray loved our PE lesson - they told me that everyone was totally on it! Mrs Mather was excited about the wraps and so were the children - no-one was willing to share theirs with me! Computing involved the exploration of ebooks - fun! We finished the week watching Peter Pan. We all the know the story now and can’t wait for Year 6 to portray all these exciting characters when we watch them next Monday.
