What a wonderful week of learning! Just a little annoyed at the rain- we really wanted to get out and about in science - but we got rained off! We cannot complain though as God provides us with water - water for life! This week we celebrated Our Lady’s birthday at church alongside our parish family. It was lovely to walk down with our Year 4 partners - they treated us with so much kindness. In class we explored what sin is and how it can take us away from God. We had a lovely discussion about the difference between doing something wrong deliberately and when we do something accidentally or because we just didn’t know! After all we are only 6 years old. We also learnt that God always gives us hope, we can say sorry and pray to him for help. We decided that acts of kindness can make everything right again.
In worship we listened to the Old Testament story of King Solomon. It was the story of the two mothers and the little baby. We reflected on how wise he was! We are working hard on being learned and wise in class - this was a good example of someone who thought carefully before making a decision.

GOING DEEPER IN CONVERSATION
We’ve been scientists this week - using our observational skills. We wanted to take our magnifiers out in the garden. We used the magnifying app on the ipad. Could you use a magnifier and venture into the garden/park. What did you observe? Have a look at the middle of a flowers and see if you can catch and observe an insect. Remember to put it back where you found it - that is what all great scientists do.
MAGIC MOMENTS OF LEARNING
Unfortunately not all the permission forms are back, therefore I’m unable to post pictures with children this week. We have been super busy! I really want to celebrate the writing in class. I’m so impressed with everyone - we have been really creative. You may have seen the Hobgoblin Catalogue that came home- well on Thursday we created new adverts for new products. We had to think of things we could sell to “Baddies” - giants, ogres and big bad wolves. We came up with:
Blow your house down machine, delicious goat pie, a silk purse for gold coins, a nest for hens that lay golden eggs -made of peacock feathers, a grandmother outfit to help the owner disguise themselves, a human trap/cage for anyone climbing beanstalks and more!!! -We did have fun!
We completed the second Kidsafe lesson this week- Bullying. Here is the parents letter for you to reinforce the messages at home
LET’S CELEBRATE
It is so difficult to select just one child for learning especially when everyone has made such a great start to Year 2. Miss Foster helped with the decisions as she has witnessed just how much everyone has grown and changed.
This week our Star Learner and Focused Kuba Crab is Jack
Our virtue star for being learned and wise is Kian
Well done!!
