Our word of the week has been follow. We linked this to the Gospel, where Jesus gathers his followers and invites them to follow him. We talked about how Jesus chose ordinary people to be his followers – normal people, just like you and me. This helped us to understand that Jesus calls everyone to follow him by the way we live our lives each day.
In RE, we have been learning about the Kingdom of God. We explored what the Kingdom of God is and what it is not. We learned that it is not about being the most important or having power, but about love, kindness, forgiveness, and caring for others. We also discussed what we can do to help grow the Kingdom of God through our actions at school and at home.
To help us remember this learning, we have created a special tree display in our classroom. Each time we do an action that helps grow God’s Kingdom, such as being kind, helping someone, sharing, or forgiving, we add a leaf to the tree. It has been lovely to see the tree filling up as we make positive choices together.
Thank you to our prayer leaders, who have confidently and respectfully led prayer and class worship this week. They have helped our class to pause, reflect, and think about how we can follow Jesus in our everyday lives. Well done, Year 3, for your thoughtful learning and for showing what it truly means to follow.
Going deeper in conversation.
What do you think the kingdom of God would look like if Jesus was walking in our community today? How could you and your family make the Kingdom of God grow?
Challenge - Can you add a leaf to our class tree this weekend? Can you remember the how to make God’s Kingdom grow?
