Our word of the week has been Beatitude. We talked about what Jesus’s words mean for how we live our lives today. Together, we shared practical ways we could try to live out the Beatitudes this week, such as showing kindness, being forgiving, helping others and choosing peace. The children offered thoughtful ideas and showed a growing understanding of how Jesus’ teachings guide us in our everyday actions.
In RE, we have been learning about the Jesus’ miracles. Jesus’ miracles. We talked about what we already know about miracles and shared thoughtful questions about why Jesus performed them and how they showed God’s love and power. We listened to the story of Jesus curing the centurion’s servant and then acted it out together, with children taking on the roles of Jesus and the centurion. We paused to think about how each person might have been feeling and were especially struck by the centurion’s great faith in Jesus, trusting that Jesus could heal him. We reflected on what this story teaches us today, including the importance of faith, trust and humility, and how we can try to live these values in our own lives.
Going deeper in conversation.
