Our word of the week has been Passion as we begin our Holy Week assemblies. We listened to the Gospel (Matthew 21:1–11) and heard about how Jesus arrived in Jerusalem on Palm Sunday. This helped us to reflect on the importance of this special time in the Church’s year.
In RE, we created thoughtful posters about how we can live out the Eucharist in our daily lives. We shared ideas such as being involved in Church, giving to charity, and caring for our parish community.
Going deeper in conversation
How can you show passion by following Jesus’ example during Holy Week in your everyday actions at home, school or in your community?
You might start your answer with:
I can show passion by…
I will follow Jesus by…
One way I can help others is…
I can live out the Eucharist by…
During Holy Week, I will try to…
This week’s learning.
In English, we began planning our information leaflets. We carefully considered subheadings and key vocabulary that we will include to make our writing clear and informative. We explored Roman army formations and the different weapons soldiers used, helping us to understand how organised and powerful the Roman army was. we learned simple classroom instructions such as sit down, stand up, look, listen, and read, and practised saying them with confidence. In Science, we learned about the function of leaves and how plants make their own food through a process called photosynthesis.

Our Learning Star is Aubree
You are so enthusiastic in our lessons, you listen carefully, follow instructions and complete your independent work with care and precision. You understand that to learn we need to make mistakes. When we make mistakes our brain is challenged and grows. Mistakes show that we are trying.
