Our word of the week was journey. During our class liturgy, we listened to the story of Jesus’ disciples walking to Emmaus. As they travelled, Jesus appeared and walked alongside them, but they did not recognise Him at first. This reminded us that Jesus is always with us, even when we don’t realise it.
We spent time reflecting on our own journeys. We thought back to when we first started school and how far we have come. Now that we are in our final term of Year 3, we have been thinking about what we would like to achieve before moving on to the next stage of our journey—Year 4. We remembered that Jesus walks beside us every step of the way.
In Maths, we have been learning column subtraction with regrouping and have been practising the 8 times table. We also explored how it links to the 4 times table by using known facts to help us.
On Wednesday, we planted sunflower seeds which we will place around the school entrances. This is part of our commitment to Laudato Si’, as we care for our world and take responsibility for our environment.
In English, we completed our Roman leaflets, using paragraphs and clear information to present our learning. In French, we practised naming items in our pencil cases.
In Computing, we explored how to create and use yes/no questions in branching databases.
