Year 2 weekly Blog Friday 23rd October “In family relationships, 'love' is really spelled 't-i-m-e,' time. Taking time for each other is the key for harmony at home.” — Dieter F.

Thank you Year 2 for working so hard this half term. Miss Forster and I have seen so much progress already!

This week we celebrated Harvest. During our children’s worship we shared our favourite food and thanked God for our amazing world. On Wednesday, we went to church with our whole school family walking with the lovely Year 5 class. Thank you for all the cereal you donated for the food bank it was deeply appreciated.

GOING DEEPER IN CONVERSATION

We had a visitor on Thursday- a nurse. She came to tell use all about germs and how to prevent them from spreading. We learnt such a lot - it was really interesting. I have attached the powerpoint she used. Why not pretend you are the nurse and teach your parents all about handwashing and sneezing!

MAGICAL MOMENTS OF LEARNING

We’ve learnt all about noun phrases - we love them, they make our writing exciting!! We’ve completed our first Geography topic -finishing with Ordinance Survey symbols on real maps. Thank you to Miss Jeffery for that fun lesson. In art we created harvest baskets, learning which foods are harvested in Autumn. In science we started out work on food chains and in PE we showed off our football skills.
