Reception homework to be handed in Monday 12th October

Thank you to all who completed last weeks homework. There was a small handful of books with no homework inside. Please do factor in time to complete the homework sent each work. It does have a huge input into your child’s learning in school. The extra practise to consolidate their learning in school helps their learning stick.

READING

Please continue to practise the sound cards brought home and enjoying stories at home together.

MATHS

This week, we have been SUBITISING (recognising small amounts without needed to count them) with amounts 1-4. You will find two bingo boards. I would like you to either create a dice with numbers 1-3 on, or tear 3 small strips of paper and write one of the numbers 1-3 on each piece, scrunch them up and use these instead of the dice.

Roll the dice or pick a scrunched up number (without seeing!) If you find a matching representation of that number either cross it off your board or place a small object on top (this would allow you to play the game multiple times). For example I roll the number 2 and I cover the box with two objects inside. Keep playing until the first line, then play for a full house! Let’s get speedy at recognising the amounts!

Handwriting

This week we have been practising recognising and forming the letters: c, k, u and b.

I loved seeing your Pen Disco and this week we have practised forming waves. Please pick your favourite tunes and get creating those colourful waves.
