What a week! As you are aware we had some very special vistors this week. They saw Year 2 sharing their growing understanding of saying sorry and forgiving. On Tuesday we learned all about the Scacrament of Reconciliation. Antonio was the priest and a variety of children entered the the confessional to share (we did not share any sins - that is for God only). We learned about absolution, and learned how the Act of Contrition is said and how penance is given. The children were wonderful when they discussed why saying sorry is so importnat to Catholics. Arya explained that we move away from God when we sin and this makes him sad and George explained that God will forgive us anything! Elijah agreed and reminded us that in the Parable of The Lost Sheep there is rejoicing in heaven for the sinner who turns back to God. Thank you children for opening your hearts and being you!
On Friday, we took part in the World Day of Pray. This year The Sisters of Nigeria led the intentions. The theme was “I will give you rest”. The children learned all about Nigeria and the beautiful Isisoma (Year 6) came to share her love of Nigeria with us. We reflected on how following Jesus “rests our soul and love of self helps us love others”
GOING DEEPER IN CONVERSATION
How is your Almsgiving going in your Lenten Box. This we we had another conversation about what we could do this week to help us to collect money for those in need. We decided that we could do chores for pennies
