What a wonderful week of reflection and storytelling.
As we entered Holy Week, we joined the whole school each morning to watch the depiction of the Easter story. The children listened with such intent and when we reflected on what we saw it was clear that each assembly had had a significant impact.
The children have reflected in class on how our mission statement is lived out everyday and how forgiveness is at the heart of each interaction. On Tuesday we learned about the Easter Vigil. We now know that during this long and important service darkness and light are used to symbolise how Jesus over came the dark and brings us all into the light of God.
George, Poppy and Emmett - led us in our final liturgy of the term. The theme was saying thank you and the children spoke so beautifully about all the things they are grateful for. Earlier in the day we made flowers for our new altar display - “He is Risen!”
GOING DEEPER IN CONVERSATION
If you could make one difference in the world this Easter what would that be?
MAGICAL MOMENTS OF LEARNING
The children have all worked extremely hard all term and there is so much progress to celebrate. The little chicks have now gone home, but during their stay we used them as our inspiration for indpedendent writing. Below is a lovely image our chicken display. It has our factual writing and our chicken diaries - pop in and have a read!
LET’S CELEBRATE
This week the children voted for their class STAR and the LEARNER of the half term. It was a draw for the STAR. Firstly Poppy, the children described how Poppy makes sure everyone is included on the playground. She is creative and adapts games so everyone can join in. Secondly Jemima. Jemima is always kind and gentle, she make “me feel safe”.
Our Learner for the term was LUCAS - this was an almost unanimous decision -
soooo well earned Lucas!
