What a wonderful but wild week we have had! The children have shown such patience, resilience and flexibility whilst supporting our Year 6 children during their SATs week and we are so increibly proud of them all.
In RE this week, the children have listened to a heartfelt and inspiring story of Saint Carlos Acutis. They were fascinated to learn about this remarkable young boy, who used his passion for technology to spread kindness and positivity around the world. Carlos showed that even at a young age, we can all make a meaningful difference through our actions, care and faith. His story encouraged us to reflect on the importance of kindness, helping others and using our own unqiue talents for the greater of good.
GOING DEEPER IN CONVERATION
Over the weekend, we would love for you to ask your child what they can remember about Mary Seacole and Saint Carlo Acutis and which Fruits of the Holy Spirit they think these inspirational figures demonstrated. The children reflected beautifully on qualities such as kindness, love, patience, goodness and faithfulness and how we can show these in our own everyday lives.
MAGICAL MOMENTS OF LEARNING
This week, the children have been learning about another significant historical figure, Mary Seacole. Please do ask them what they have discovered about her at home this weekend! We have loved extending our learning from Florence Nightingale and exploring the lives of two truly inspirational women who showed compassion, bravery and determination in helping others.
Alongside this, the children have continued to carefully monitor and observe their seeds. They absolutely love ‘seed time’ and watching them grow. We are so proud of the children this week for their hard work and determination to complete their online book quizzes! We would like to give a special mention this week to Jaxon for his fantastic reading progress and our superstar mathematician, Emmett!
The children have become money experts this week and have worked their little socks off! Please continue to play with money at home. It is so important that the children are able to recognise different coins and money notes and find the total of a mixture of different coins.
As always, the children loved their PE session with Mr Nay and are very excited about their upcoming Sports Day! Mrs Hotchkiss, Miss Brookes and Miss Forster have been on a spelling mission this week and we are so proud of the children who have worked so increibly hard to learn all of their red words!
LET’S CELEBRATE
This week, we would love to celebrate Elijah who is our attentive and discerning superstar! Elijah is a joy to have in our classroom and we love that he is so passionate about his learning. We would also like to celebrate April, who has come such a wonderful reader. We love hearing the expression in your voice. This is also reflected in her beautiful writing.
