‘No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted’

Aesop

It’s been another busy week, I can’t believe how quickly this week has gone.

In RE we continued to discuss that Jesus is the light our our world. We thought about our lenten boxes and how we can shine our light for other though our acts of kindness. We shared what we could do to raise money for CAFOD.

Maths: We had bowls with lots of different objects. We grouped objects that were the same and subitised them. We were very speedy.

Science: On Thursday we recieved a letter from the Three Little Pigs, they needed our help, they wanted to go to the market but it was raining! They wanted us to design an umbrella using the most suitable materials. Before we could decide the best material we needed to test them. We had five materials, paper, plastic, tissue, foil and felt. We predicted that plastic would be the best as it is the most waterproof and we were right. To make it a fair test we decided that each child on the table would put three drops of water on each material. Before we could do this we needed to learn how to use a pipette, we practised outside so we were ready to start in the afternoon. Our predictions were correct the plactic was the most waterproof, so was tinfoil but we thought it would be hard to use that material as it is not as strong.

Tea Dance

I am excited to announce that on Tuesday 26th March we will be performing a dance with other schools. This will be at Marine Hall, Fleetwood 12:30 -2:30 and the cost is £3 per child for the transport. This is now on Parent Pay. We will let you know as soon as tickets are avalible so you can watch our dance. The theme this year is ‘Book Worm’ and our dance is inspired by the Gruffalo. We had our first session on Wednesday with Sarah. We had a great start and I am looking forward to the end result.

Lenten Boxes

Wow it was lovely to see how much thought and care went into the lenten boxes, the children were so excited to swap them with their partners. We will be walking to mass to celebrate lent next Friday with our Year 4 partners

It would be lovely to have lots of you there.

  • Polite reminder that all children across school should bring water in their bottles and not juice. This is something that we discuss regularly in school as part of our discussions about healthy snacks and healthy lunches. Please can you bring in healthy snacks please refer to the poster for suitable snack, we always have fruit avalible too.

  • Please can you bring/keep spare uniform in bags, as the weather has been wet recently, children have fallen over in puddles and it can sometimes be tricky finding spare uniform for them in the right size.
