Final Talent Show Information

We are really excited for tomorrow night’s show and are busy getting final things in place. There are 24 tickets left for tomorrow night after every family has bought. We can therefore offer the option to buy 1 more ticket - ONLY IF NEEDED. If more than 24 families want an extra ticket, we will draw out of a hat the 24 who will receive one. Please email Mrs Nel by midday today if you require 1 additional ticket on bursar@ourladystarofthesea.lancs.sch.uk

Doors will open at 5.50pm tomorrow night for the show and there will be refreshments, raffle and programmes available - all £1. Please bring a raffle prize with you if you can to donate to the show.

Just a few reminders:

  • Appropriate clothing for the event please.

  • Bring some £s for the bits to buy here.

  • Please stay for the entire show. The children in Year 1 have been placed in act 1 incase they get too tired and need to leave at the interval. Our children all need an audience!

  • Lots of clapping, lots of cheering and lots of laughing please!

This is going to be a wonderful event and a superb fundraiser for the school too!

Our Lady HAS Got Talent

What a response we have had! I thought it would be good - but I did not think it would be this good and next time, we will definitely do a KS1 and a KS2 one separately. But for this one - it is one gigantic event.

There are 41 entries - and 60 children wanting to take part on Thursday 21st May at 6pm here in school. Given the amount of children wanting to join in - they are all in, I don’t have the heart to turn anyone away. The show should be finished around 8.30pm with a short interval.

Rules for the event:

  • Each performance can be no longer than 3 minutes. Think about the music and song entries.

  • All music used must be completely appropriate in terms of language.

  • Think carefully about costumes/clothes - anything can be worn -as long as it is appropriate.

Look carefully at the entry list. If there is music that is to be added, please can you let me know so that I can add it to the list. Music will have to be sent to me, or if on Spotify, let me know which song and the time required. The children will be mixed up into a running order; programmes will be available on the night.

Tickets will be on sale next week. Due to the amount of children taking part, it will be 2 tickets per family initially, priced at £3 per ticket - we can then release more depending on space. These will be on Parent Pay.

Let’s see what the first talent show brings!

Lancashire Sings 2026

It’s that time of year again!
The choir has been working incredibly hard in preparation for their performance at Lowther Pavilion on Wednesday 11th March. On Monday, we were delighted to welcome one of the event organisers, who rehearsed the songs with us and helped us perfect those all‑important finishing touches!

Important Information

The event will run throughout the day, beginning at 9:30am and finishing at approximately 2:15pm. Transport has been arranged both to and from school, so children should arrive and be collected at their usual times.

Throughout the morning, the children will take part in rehearsals to prepare for their big performance for parents and carers at 1pm.

Tickets

Please note that this is a ticketed event.

Due to venue capacity, each school has been allocated a limited number of tickets based on how many children are performing, and families will only be able to purchase 1 ticket. Unfortunately, capacity at the venue does mean that organisers cannot guarantee that every child will receive one ticket for a family member.

To allocate tickets as fairly as possible, I have created a form for parents/carers who wish to attend the 1pm performance on 11th March. The form will close at 9am on Monday 23rd February. After the form closes, names will be drawn at random, and those selected will receive the ticket link.

I completely understand that this may feel frustrating, but this decision is beyond our control. I have also been informed that any remaining tickets will go on general sale on Monday 9th March.

What should children bring on the day?

Children should come dressed in their full school uniform, looking smart and ready to perform.

They may bring a small backpack, which will stay under their seat. Inside their backpack, they will need:

  • A packed lunch

  • A drink (no fizzy drinks, please)

  • A filled water bottle

  • A book or small colouring book for quiet moments

For one of our songs, each child should also bring an item that represents sunshine and happiness, such as:

  • Sunglasses

  • A sun hat

  • Yellow ribbon to wave

  • A small sunshine design attached to a stick

This item should also fit inside their backpack.

Organisers may take photographs for social media and publicity. If you would prefer your child not to appear in these images, please let me know.
