What a delightful week in year 4. In our prayer and liturgy this week, we have focused on what real wealth is - following Luke’s gospel about a rich man and a poor man, Lazarus. The children felt that real wealth is love, both receiving it and giving it freely to others. They also mentioned having a family who cared about you and a beautiful world to live in was true wealth. They are so reflective. This was echoed in our RE lesson, when children considered the virtues of faith, hope and love in Abraham’s actions.
In Science this week we have classified plants into two categories and how they both reproduce. Children looked closely at the inside of a flower - at the male and female parts. Then they looked at a non-flowering plant, a fern to see the spores.
Children were excited to meet Charlotte the spider in our novel. Through this, they learned the difference between formal and informal language and wrote letters in both styles. We have been having great fun with different games in spelling too!
In our Kidsafe lesson this week, children learned about how to keep their private places safe. They learned some important rules for this which are outlined in the letter below. Your child may want to talk to you about these rules.
Have a look at some of our lovely learning from the first four weeks in Year 4.
