This week children have been so reflective in their RE work. They learned to recognise the care and wisdom of God through the story of Abraham’s willing sacrifice. Children thought about what this story would mean to the people back then. They then went deeper to think about its relevance today and how it almost mirrors the story of Jesus’ sacrifice - however God loves us so much that He did give us His only son as the sacrifical lamb. They are inspired as the people were then in Abraham’s true faith and trust in God.
Also this week, Isla, Edward and Sasha led us in praying the rosary, focusing on the glorious mysteries. It was a special day - one million children around the world would be praying to Our Lady. The way they led us in prayer was truly beautiful. Between them, they helped the children know which beads to hold, to reflect on each mystery in turn and think about what it means for us today. Well done!
Our kindness bucket in class is almost full - and it is a big bucket! Children love spotting the goodness in each other.
Children are working so hard in lessons. They wrote another character description for a character from Charlotte’s Web and now they are onto the language of persuasion - they will be writing a letter to the farmer to stop Wilbur’s imminent death! Be prepared to have a very persuasive child. Children had a lovely day today in forest school exploring the outdoors with Mrs Tierney. They have now moved onto understanding place value in Maths
