This week in our RE lessons, we have delved further into our understanding of prophets. First children learned about Elijah’s journey and the difficulties and delights he faced. Then they compared Mark and Matthew’s accounts of John the Baptist to find out that he was a preacher, a prophet and a witness to Jesus Christ.
We had a lovely worship from Henry S, Henry O and Scarlet all about Jesus’s question, “Who do you say I am.” Many thought He was a prophet like Elijah. However, as John the Baptist said, he is Isaiah’s prophesied Saviour - and Peter recognised this. This Sunday is the Feast of Christ the King and in class we have learned in the Gospel about Jesus’ final moments - when again He was recognised by the criminal next to Him as God’s Son.
This week, 3 children went to the Grand Theatre as they are our Shakespeare Ambassadors. They had a great time on stage - having a sneak preview of Hamlet and discussing exciting ideas going forward.
We have started our new English topic on Fairy Tales after finishing our AMAZING explanations about how different seeds disperse. Have a look at examples of their work below. Children learned about the discovery of Tutenkhamun’s tomb in History this week and wrote newspaper reports all about it!
We have also started practising for our Key Stage 2 Christmas carol service in church.
Here are some lovely nativity pictures this week. Thank you for embracing this lovely reflective experience.
