This week has absolutely flown by! We have packed so many exciting learning opportunities into the week, and Year 3 have worked incredibly hard while having lots of fun.
We continued our work on The Spider and the Fly. The children became police officers investigating the mysterious disappearance of Miss Fly! They thought carefully about the questions they would ask Mr Spider before taking part in a hot-seating activity, where they interviewed him to gather evidence. Using the information they collected, the children wrote detailed police reports explaining their findings.In maths, we continued our learning about fractions. The children practised ordering non-unit fractions, recognising whole fractions and comparing fractions using their growing understanding of numerators and denominators.
Our trip to Glazey days was truly amazing! We travelled by public transport to and from Fleetwood, and the children were an absolute credit to both our school and to you as parents. We received so many lovely comments from Blackpool Transport staff and members of the public about the children’s exceptional behaviour, kindness and excellent manners. We had a wonderful time painting pottery before enjoying a picnic lunch together, followed by a well-deserved ice cream on the promenade. Well done, Year 3 – I am incredibly proud of each and every one of you!
The children have continued developing their coding skills using Scratch. They have really impressed me with their confidence and problem-solving, creating programs using code blocks. It has been fantastic to see how much progress they have made.
A huge well done to Year 3 for their fantastic effort in our sponsored class marathon in aid of the British Heart Foundation. Together, the children completed an incredible 517 laps of the school field! Their determination, resilience and teamwork were amazing to see, and they should all be very proud of this wonderful achievement.
