‘In a world where you can be anything, be kind.’

Clare Pooley

We ended our week by watching Year 2's Holy Week assembly on Palm Sunday, they retold the story beautifully and we reflected on the events when we came back to class.

Conversation starter:

Each week we will give you a question that we would like you to think about and discuss together at home. This could be over dinner time as a family, at bedtime, on a walk or even in the car. However you choose to discuss this question is up to you, but the idea is that it will help to give an insight in to what we talk about in school, help children to understand more about themselves or others.

What are you proud of today?

What adventures have we been on this week?

We have continued learning about doubles and the parts that make the whole, our stem sentences have been … is made of …. and …. … and …. make …. e.g. 4 is made of 2 and 2, 2 and 2 make 4. Keep practising the children are getting more confident each day. We have also been sorting objects into groups, such as colours, materials they are made from, size.

We continued Jack and the Beanstalk and wrote instructions on how to plant beans, ours have gone home, how tall will they grow?

The weather has been crazy this week, we’ve had, sun, wind, rain and even hail, our weather chart has had a range of weather drawn on it.

Art/DT: everyone has made their junk model characters, don’t they look great :).
