What a truly wonderful and Christmassy final week we have had in Year 3! It has been full of joy, creativity, celebration and reflection as we prepared our hearts for Christmas and came together as a school community.
On Tuesday evening, our KS2 children took part in a beautiful Carol Concert in church. The church was packed with families and friends, and the atmosphere was very special. The children sang with confidence and enthusiasm and helped to retell the Christmas story so clearly and reverently.
Wednesday was a day full of fun and festive treats! We enjoyed our Christmas party followed by a delicious Christmas dinner. With full tummies the children got cosy in the school hall and enjoyed a Christmas film together. The day end with our amazing Christmas raffle.
On Thursday, we had a creative and reflective day in class. We made Christmas stained glass angels linked to our RE learning, and created beautiful Christmas cards showing the Nativity scene with Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus and the shining star. We also wrote up our Christmas Mix-Up poems, which were full of imagination and festive humour.
We ended the week on a high with Friday’s Panto Day. The children booed, cheered and sang their hearts out during our annual staff pantomime, which was great fun and a perfect way to finish the term.
