What a beautiful week we have had! Year 4 have worked so hard and their focus has been exceptional this week. In our worship, we reflected on this week’s gospel about God’s generosity to all. We thought about a human’s tendency to always want to be more than others and how Jesus teaches us just to be generous rather than seek to compare with each other. In RE, children recounted the story of God’s covenant with Abram and recognised his unwavering faith.
We have done our second Kidsafe lesson this week, where children thought about what bullying is and reflected on how it makes others feel. They even thought about the mind of the bully and what could be going on underneath. Please read the letter below outlining the main points.
Other magical moments this week: We have loved collecting homophones in spelling and being brilliant scientists when studying invertebrates in Science. Thursday was the very first ukulele lesson and every child rose to the challenge! They were all strumming and playing their first chords by the end of the lesson. Please see below for important messages regarding the ukulele.

PE DAY CHANGE: We are changing our inside PE lesson from Thursday to Monday from now on. This is because Ukulele in now taking place on Thursdays.
UKULELE: Children will be bringing this home tonight and they need to bring it into school every Thursday to play in class. Please encourage them to practise what they have learned in class and show you what they can do. Please do the following:
Look after them and keep them in the cases when not played. Keep in a safe place away from younger siblings curious little hands!
Encourage children not to pluck the strings too hard.
We have told them not to mess with the keys so it goes out of tune. Please re-iterate this message
Children are strumming with fingers rather than picks. Have fun learning this new skill!

Our virtues this half term are to be Compassionate and Loving. This means showing genuine care for others and trying to put yourself in their position. This week, our star goes to George. What a gentle and compassionate soul you are. You show such patience and love to others through your actions and have been a wonderful teacher this week.
