Welcome to the Year 4 home learning page.

Home learning book

Please back your home learning books as you do every year. You could use photographs, wrapping paper, pictures, stickers or any unique way to keep it protected and smart.

Spelling

Spelling is one of those things that needs lots of practice. We will be doing spelling in 4 sections in each week.

1. Remembering past graphemes (spelling patterns) by collecting words

2. Remembering past common words

3. Revising a rule for spelling

4. Learning new tricky words

   You will have a spelling lesson in class to teach you the words and patterns first - your home learning will then consolidate this to help you remember and grow your brain.

   Please complete the 2 sheets, following the guidance on the sheet to help you. Notice the words on the sheet are in beautiful, joined up handwriting - so yours should be too!

5. Use this task to help you improve your handwriting. It is best to complete it in pencil then you can rub it out if you make a mistake.

Maths

We have stuck your TTRockstars password in your homework books. Please go on TTRockstars for 5 minutes every day. Just aim to get a little better each day.

Go in the GARAGE as this will work at your level. It might give you the same calculations over and over - but this is to help you get speedy!

Optional homework: Seeds

We are learning about how different seeds disperse so that we can write about it in our English lessons.

Why not go and see which seeds you can find on the ground at this time of year? You can bring them into class if you like. You might find acorns, helicopter seeds, gorse, conkers, poppy seed heads etc

Over half term we would like the children to make Lenten boxes to swap with another child. The children could use a margarine tub, small cardboard box or container and decorate it how they choose. Please ensure Lenten Boxes are brought back into school by Wednesday 21st February ready to swap.
