Home Learning - Thursday 21st May 2020

Good morning Year 6. This is your final day of learning for this half term. Although you now have two weeks off after this date, this is a perfect opportunity to catch up on any challenges that you need to complete from the past few weeks. You should have a full and completed set of learning for this half term. Today is your final Water Parks challenges, don’t forget to send in your learning photos and adventurous challenge photos for this week.

THURSDAY’S WATER PARK CHALLENGE

Challenge - One of the main themes of Water Parks is WATER! Can you design and make something that floats today? This might be a canoe, kayake, sailing boat or anything that floats! The weather is supposed to be lovely today too…can you make yourself float outside and get yourself wet?

Some of the teas that we would have had this week are: lasagna, chicken enchiladas, burgers and meatballs and pasta. Choose some of these to have for your tea this week. Make them alongside your family and send me a photo of you all eating together. Meal times are so important at Water Parks, we share what we have done during the day. Send me some photos of you cooking and eating a Water Parks meal alongside your family. We also would have had some amazing desserts…especially the donuts and the sticky toffee pudding! Can you have a go at making these classics this week?

This is our learning timetable for the week. I realise that everyone works slightly differently and you like to see what is coming up over the week. I have attached my visual timetable for the week so you can plan better. Where there is a little camera, that means that I will be filming that lesson for you. You will notice that it is a 4 day week - there will be a challenge set for you on Friday.

English - Wonder Week 3 Lesson 4

Wonder Precept.PNG

We are introduced to the topic of Precepts in this section of the book. Today you are going to design your own PRECEPT. A quote or a moto that you believe and stand by. I have created one for myself and actually, it is now in a frame in my house.

I would like you to choose a Precept or a quote that means something to you and to create a piece of artwork on the quote. I have set a Purple Mash to do if you want to use the poster tool. You can also draw it or complete it on word, publisher or Powerpoint.

Maths - BODMAS

I have decided to pause area until after half term as we are due to move onto a new shape. So, I have set you some questions for you to complete on SUMDOG and IXL.

I have set you a SUMDOG challenge on BODMAS for you to complete. 50 questions.

IXL CC4 and CC5

Science - Gestation periods and Life Expectancy

This is our final science lesson of this unit and it will result in 2 graphs being made via Purple Mash and handed in to me. Follow the lesson, complete the tasks and send me your work. I look forward to seeing it!
