‘Faith’ has been the centre of our prayer and reflection this week. During our Wednesday word and teacher’s liturgy on Thursday we have listened and reflected on the meaning of Sunday’s gospel Luke 17:5-10. In the gospel we hear the disciples ask Jesus to give them more faith and Jesus’ response is most profound: even if they had faith like a mustard seed they could tell a mulberry tree to move from where it is in the ground and plant itself in the sea. What better place than to hold our liturgy around our reading tree in the library! We have looked at the metaphorical meaning of the gospel and how Jesus is telling us that even if we only have a small amount of faith we can do amazing things. Even if we can’t move trees, we might be able to make big changes to the world around us. This has linked beautifully to our RE lessons this week, where we have looked at the Laudato Si- Pope Francis’ letter to us, urging us to look after our common home- planet earth- and how we are all called to be stewards.
Thank you to the following children who planned and led us through prayer, reflection and worship…
Year 6 have been doing some wonderful learning this week. Our class novel ‘The Nowhere Emporium’ is in full swing and we are making so many great predictions as we read. We have explored the characters this week in detail, looking at their main characteristics and how they are brought to life through blended action, dialogue and description. In Maths we have been looking at how we can find unknown numbers in balanced equations through using redistribution. Here are some lovely moments of the week…
This week, we have completed our 4th Kidsafe lesson about keeping our private areas safe. Your children may wish to discuss this further with you.

Leading Learners
Well done to Hugo this week.
Hugo, you thoroughly get involved in all your learningk and push yourself to be better each day. You constantly listen to feedback, reflect on it and then strive to be the best version of yourself. We are so impressed with your wonderful attitude, you are always focused, fully engaged and determined in any task given, your effort across all subjects makes you a super role model.
Learning and Wise Stars
This half term we will be on the look-out for all the children that are learned in their actions, finding God in all things. Those who are wise, who use their learning for the common good. These children are the role models of the school, who drive their own learning and who have the wisdom to know when and how to apply one’s learning. This week we thank Sean for working for the common good of our classroom this week.
