Year 2 Homework to be handed in on Monday 18th September

Dear Parents,

I have set just a couple of learning tasks for this weekend so the children and yourselves begin the habit of handing in homework every Monday. I will then set homework on Tuesday for the following week.

READING

Please continue to read every night with your parents- ready to quizz in school.

WOLVES!!!

We have read the book “The Last Wolf” this was a thought provoking story about why a little girl called “Little read” can’t find a wolf when she goes on a hunt. I have attached a link to the story online for you to share together.

Now you can see the dilemma for the very last bear, lynx and wolf. We talked about Little Reds solution and thought it would be wonderful for us to follow her example and plant seeds.

For your homework I would like you to go on a seed hunt! Can you bring back an acorn seed or a horse chestnut seed back to school. I have attached images of the seeds you are hunting for. Once back at school we will visit our Polytunnel and plant the seeds and then nurture them! If you want to send me a picture of you on your seed hunt please do!!!

RESEARCH

The children did not know what a lynx was - so we decided it was the perfect challenge for our homework. Can you find out what a lynx is. How you choose to record your findings in your homework book is up to you. Be a creative Kiki!

Hand in your seed and homework book on Monday (18th)

Have fun!
