Year 2 - Home learning to be handed in on Monday 22nd January

READING

I’m listening to the children read every week. I’m listening to fluency. I listen for 1 minute. When fluency increases so does understanding - but remember to pause for punctuation too!

Please continue to read at home this truly is the key to everything!

SPELLING

This week the IGH sound spelt with a y - it always comes at the end of a word.

Quick writes: shy, sky, sly, dry, try, fly, cry

Trickier words to learn: reply nearby terrify multiply and butterfly

MATHS

More mental maths this week - remember short quick bursts using your number facts! Please complete the following units: E3 and E4

GEOGRAPHY - CURIOUS ABOUT COUNTRIES!!!

Well done for all your hard work in relation to countries in Europe!

This week we are selecting a country from Asia to study! Last week we had some special PowerPoints , interesting facts in our homework books. We also had fantastic posters - we are collecting these on our WORLD display!

CURIOUS ABOUT COUNTRIES!!!

I wanted the children to be excited and curious about the country they research so I haven’t given then a specific country. This week we are selecting a country from ASIA!!! If you want me to choose please study- CHINA - but please be curious and choose a country of your own if you want.

Please do one of the following - what went well last week? What could you improve

Make a poster all about your country

Write a factfile in your homework book all about your country

Make a presentation (PP) on the computer - if someone can help and send it to Mrs Hotchkiss.

Have fun!
