Year 2 home learning - over the Easter Holiday

READING

The children have had the opportunity to swap their reading books on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. I have asked them not to bring their changed book back on Thursday - this is to read over the holidays.

Please continue to enjoy your book. Read books from the your local library and books you love too!

MATHS NUMBOTS

Please practice Numbots this week and next. I have set a challenge for each child to complete 20 mins over the whole week - 5 or 10 minutes at a time. Nice and regular sessions keep those number facts sharp and help to complete the levels set. Just a note: the program is “intelligent” it will respond to the child’s answers and importantly their speed. If the child stays focused for 5/10 minutes at a time it will really consolidate your number facts.

CHICKS - NEEDING A HOME

We have a home for 3 of the chicks in class and I thought we had secured a home for the last two. Sadly, this is not now the case and they are without a home currently. If you are able to house these adorable little friends or you know a friend who can - please let me know before Thursday. l.hotchkiss@ourladystarofthesea.lancs.sch.uk

INVITATION TO CLASS

If you would like to pop into class at the end of the day (Tuesday or Wednesday) to meet our 5 little chicks you are most welcome. We will take them out of the brooding cage - they are adorable!!!

OPTIONAL HOME LEARNING

PRE -LEARNING

Next term we’ll be investigating plants in science. This Easter could you buy some veg seeds and plant them? There is nothing more rewarding then taking care of plants until they flower and then produce food!!

Also next term we will be finding out more about the “Mexico Disaster”. Can you find out more - here is a link to help.

When you’re out and about during the holiday, can you visit the memorial?

Have a lovely holiday

NB: All homework books have been kept in class
