Please ensure you are reading with your child as much as possible, this is the gateway to all learning!
The first week we come back in June is our phonics screening. Please practise your phonics every day to make sure you are ready!
For the screening I need to hear special friends, fred talk, read the word. Make sure you practise this at home - this is essential in order to read the words correctly.
E.G in the word shape my special friends are sh and a-e, fred talk is sh a-e p, read the word shape.
If you have any questions please ask, I am here to help and I want your child to succeed as much as you do.
We use ‘phonics play’ in class as a fun phonics game. This is free on the internet.
Another reminder that if you have a holiday or appointment booked in the week commencing 9th June I need to know this asap so I can ensure your child sits their screening on a day that they are in school.
