Year 5 Weekly Blog 23.10.25- 'Don't judge each other by the harvest you reap but by the seeds you plant'

And just like that, we have finished our first half term of Year 5! (and our longest one of the year). The children have settled into life as upper juniors excellently and have worked so hard over these past eight weeks, you all deserve a week off. We have finished our final week of the half term with celebration and togetherness. On Tuesday, we invited you lovely parents in for our annual book look, to show you how hard your child has been working and to get a glimpse into the Year 5 curriculum. On Wednesday, we carried on with our enrichment opportunities for the third year running. To start, the children went back to Year 4 with Mrs Lyons for a bit of musical theatre!

We ended our week by coming together to celebrate our harvest festival. Thank you so much for all of your donations ( I have never seen so many baked beans in my life). Photos of all of our collections are available on Mrs Gregan’s blog. We also had a special visit from two of our local police force to chat with Year 5 and 6 all about Halloween and Bonfire Safety. The children were very responsive and curious with their questions and answers and we may have inspired some future police officers in the making.

Conversation Starters

In preparation for Halloween and Bonfire night, can you remember the ways of how we can stay safe during these two events. Did you learn anything new about the Police, Halloween or Bonfires?
