This week we studied Annunication and the Magnificat! The children have a new and deeper understanding of what the Angel said to Mary and in turn what she said back. We discovered that the Angel told her not to be afraid and that she would have a son. He explianed that he would be the"Son of the Most High" and would reign forever. Mary replied "I am the Lord's servant. May your word to me be fulfilled” Mary was full of faith and humility. Each child recieved a miraculous medal at the end of the lesson. These reminds us of how Mary placed her faith in God. When we keep this medal near us, or in a safe place, it remind us that we can be like her.
We had a beautiful worship this week led by Jaxon, Izzy and Alex - their theme was Jesus the King. We loved their worhsip especially their choice of hymn “The Servant King”
GOING DEEPER IN CONVERSATION
This week we reflected on the different stages of life: baby, then a teenager, adult, mum or dad, then old age. We thought about how Jesus loved everyone and that God loves us at every stage of our lives. God has a plan for each of us and we live this in a life full of wonderful exciting change. Can you find pictures of your life and show your child how you have grown from a baby to a child, then teenager and then adult. Can you tell them the best part of each stage.
MAGIC MOMENTS OF LEARNING
The nativity play is coming along nicely the shepherds have been on stage with some unruly sheep from Year 1! Please learn your lines as this makes the rehearsal so much easier and it helps the children to understand their part. This week we started our new book in English “Wind in the Willows” there was a wanted poster for Toad displayed in our classroom and we knew something was afoot! In maths we have explored “first, then then and now stories”(augmentation) and how this can be expressed on a numberline! I was completely blown away with the children’s map reading skill in Geography. They had to take photos of different things around school which were plotted on a map- well done everyone. In computing we continued to code we hope you loved our amazing clay tiles - Mrs Mather was very proud of us! On Thursday we pinched a lesson to make cards for Eliza’s friend Mrs Orell who will be turning 107 next week! Finally, on Friday we took over forest school - fresh air and hands on learning!
