We turn to Advent. This week the children have learnt all about the Advent Wreath. Unfortunately we didn’t all get to make a “wreath hat” in class as we were in and out of the hall as our play comes together. Arya, Amara and Eliza have been our worship leaders and they led us in prayer on Thursday- beautifully. Their theme was “Angels” and we brought home a little prayer card to help us pray to our guardian angels. On Monday we came together to make cards and flowers for a friend in the community. Eliza has a friend who was 107 this week and we wanted to send our love!
We have all written and shared a promise for Advent
GOING DEEPER IN CONVERSATION
This week we learnt all about the Mexico Disaster - local history. After learning all about Grace Darling and her rescue, we listened carefully and acted out our the rescue of the Mexico 140 years ago. Here is a oracy prompt to help the children retell the story. I know the children found this story fascinating. Share this story prompt and ask them to tell you what happened.
Why not pop down to the memorial statue and take a moment together
MAGIC MOMENTS OF LEARNING
In maths we’ve been adding 3 addends and looking for pairs that make ten to help us. In English we went to the Wild Wood in “Wind in the Willows” - it was scarying and hostile! As you can see above we learnt all about the Mexico disaster and we’ve completed our topic on clay. We hope you like our house models. We continue to practice our spelling everyday along with our daily singing! The sound of Christmas is everywhere! Then today we went off to the RNLI lifeboat station to find out more about this amazing charity and the heroic work they do - see pictures below…
