This week we explored the life of St Paul. We were shocked to know that he was not very nice to the very first Christians. In fact St. Paul hated the Christians. He was not called Paul at that time his name was Saul and he went about persecuting and arresting Christians. Then one day on the way to Damascus he was blinded by a light and Jesus spoke directly to him. He was then blind! Three days later a man called Ananias came to visit him and healed his sight- from that moment Saul was converted and changed his name to Paul. He became a very important follower of Jesus he travelled far and wide telling everyone about Jesus. Paul famously wrote letters and we discovered that we read these almost every week at Mass. In class we completed a lovely story board retelling this historical story. In worship we said our final Rosary for Mary - each prayer was offered for different family members - two special one- Seamus’ daddy and Aubree’s mummy. We pray too for a wonderful holiday with family and friends!
GOING DEEPER IN CONVERSATION
On Thursday we had the most wonderful day. Miss Lavelle led us on our Forest School take over day. We spent almost the whole day busy learning in the forest garden. Being outside in the fresh air climbing trees and being with nature just made us so happy and relaxed. Plan a day in nature this holiday- what will you get up to? Will you make a den together or climb a tree? At the end reflect on how this time outside effects your mood and sense of well being.
MAGIC MOMENTS OF LEARNING
I have to celebrate our writing this week. We are reading the book of Aladdin and watching the films too, these have inspired us to be the characters. At the beginning of the week we wrote diaries for both Jasmine and Aladdin. We had set the class goal of getting down to our work and finishing in 40 mins! Not only were we super focused but our work was amazing!!!! Mrs Carter, Miss Slater and I all had the biggest grins! Our handwriting, spelling and sentence composition was great - but the diaries were fun to read and that is so important! I think we have cracked division and we’ve noticed that all this grouping and sharing into equal groups matches multiplication! In Geography we reflected on what life is like for the Yanomami people of the rainforest and spotted the differences and similarities with our lives. We’ve composed music in computing and please pop on to the Art and DT pages to see our wonderful work (Mrs Mather has uploaded it on). In PE we’ve practiced sprinting for Sport Day on our return and Miss Bassett has loved teach time - everyone is engaging and trying so hard to master this tricky skill!
Last but not least FOREST SCHOOL DAY - It was amazing!!! It is hard to describe how chilled and creative we all were, what teamwork and kindness was shown throughout the day. It was magical. The pictures speak volumes!
