This week the children discovered that in the Old Testament there is a special book full of poems and hymns these are the Psalms. Here the poets have written beautiful poems to God thanking him for the wonders of the world. Inspired by these we had a go at writing our own. We decided to write one all about our world. Here is one of our Psalms:
Thank you for bunnies who jump around,
Thank you for daisies that smell nice
Thank you for snowy weather that is fun.
Thank you for the birds that hum.
Thank you God for the Forest!
By April Davies (aged 6)
April was also joined by her fellow Eco counsellor Dee Dee and Marcel who all led us in our very first child led worship. Our theme was PROMISES - inspired by God making a promise to Noah- we made promises back to God.
How will you look after God’s world today?
GOING DEEPER IN CONVERSATION
This week during our Kidsafe lessons - the children thought carefully about keeping safe online. Please have those important conversations with your child. Let them know how important it is for you to protect them from strangers in real life and those that are hidden online.
MAGICAL MOMENTS OF LEARNING
A massive thank you goes to Miss Woodend this week who has led the teaching on two days. We had a lovely time with her! There were so many highlights, we have explored coding in computing and we are whizzing through our shape learning. We’ve thought hard about why Grace Darling did what she did and George was funny as the Big Bad Wolf as we hot seated (interviewed) him after reading the book “The Real Story of the 3 little pigs”. Without a doubt our favourite task of the week was to make Goldilocks a birthday present. We have been invited to her birthday and we have all made her a book - retelling her story. We learned how to make these little zig zag books and it was such fun to make them and share them. Eliza asked if I could send her the video of how to make them so she could make a book at home and she has made 4!!! She shared with the class. In response the children begged me to pop the video onto this weeks blog so here it is- clink on the picture and the image below and the video should open

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM MRS GREGAN
Whenever we start a new school year, we always have to migrate pupils and staff into their new class. This year, the technology that we use to do that has not been as successful for the teachers as it has been for the pupils. As a result, we have lost access to the Parental Consent forms that so many of you filled in prior to Induction Night. These have been deleted as groups have changed. Please can you spend another 5 minutes completing the consent form again this weekend. We are really confident with the information that we gathered before the forms disappeared, we just want to double check and make sure all information gathered is 100% correct. There was still some outstanding forms to be completed too. We are really sorry for the inconvenience and really appreciate you spending a little bit more time to ensure everything is as it should be.
REMINDERS
Please remember homework completed and handed in Monday Morning - this really helps me when everything comes in on time- thank you.
Thank you to all the volunteers for the trips - just need a couple more for the life bat station on 28th Nov - just the morning.
Have the best weekend - Mrs Hotchkiss and Miss Forster
