We listened to the very powerful parable of Lazarus and the rich man. This has made us think really hard about what wealth really is. Does money make us happy? We thought hard about this and decided we were rich in love, friendship, kindness and family. We were led beautifully too in a children’s worship (Sophia, Eliza and Nellie) all about “water”. We linked this to wealth and decided that creation makes us all rich. You may here us say a little pray each time we wash or take a drink - “Thank you God for living water”.
In RE we have learnt all about Stewardship and how we are all Stewards of Creation. We simply have to look after the world. In response we have made fantastic posters and written a letter to Mrs Gregan telling her what we think we need to to next. Dee Dee our lovely Eco counsellor made another poster/plan all about compost. This is a big job but on our list - to do - for this year!!!
GOING DEEPER IN CONVERSATION
How much of our bodies are made of water?
Water of life! Water gives our planet life - why not take a family walk on the beach or around the lake and take a few moments together to marvel at God’s creation - a time to be together in his warm embrace.
MAGIC MOMENTS OF LEARNING
We’ve had a lovely week full of exciting tasks. We took our science lessons outside - we worked in two’s to take wildlife photographs. We had to take 5 super pictures of living things. Later we returned to class to make a collage using the iPads displaying the loving things in our school environment. We were very lucky as one of our plants on the fence attracts butterflies and it was covered. I have to give Isabella and Hector a shout out for there excellent photography!!! In English we have reached the end of our Jolly Postman work and we have made a new book! Mrs H has written the story but the class have all contributed to the illustrations and the new letters. Mrs Tierney is going to let us read it around her campfire and then we are going to pop it in the school library!
LET’S CELEBRATE
This week our Learning award goes to a creative writer - Sophia- Well done!
Our Virtue Star this week goes to Amara. Amara always contributes to the class with beautiful words of wisdom. It was Amara that made the link between creation and wealth- we really do have everything we need.
