READING
We are on a mission to have everyon reading with fluently (80 words per minute) before Easter. I have reset the children’s reading targets on AR reader. The children are all aiming to quiz at least once each week ideally twice - ipads to quiz are handed out each morning. Please ensure books are returned daily as we read in school too.
MATHS
Before Christmas we started to master bridging through ten. I have made a little video to show you how the children record each step on a numberline. The children have a maths sheet in their homework book.
HANDWRITING AND SPELLING
This week our spellings are the days of the week and the month January. This term the children will be writing the date each day and underlining it with a ruler. We had a straight line ruler lesson in December to practice how to use the ruler to master the straight line (not as easy as it first seems). Please watch the film - thank you
OPTIONAL HOMEWORK
As we enter this new term we engage with new topics. This term has a theme of birds and flight. You will notice that most of the extra tasks extend this learning - enjoy!
