Reconciliation has been at the heart of our RE lessons this week. We have focused on what a sin is. This is when we do something against God. God wants us to be loving, respectful and honest humans. He knows that when we act like him we find true happiness. However, sometimes we sin or make a mistake. God also teaches us that he is always here for us, he will always forgive. Sometimes we think it is OK if we just say sorry - but the bible teaches us that sorry is not enough - we have to change- making sure we don’t do what we did again. To help us we can perform an act of penance. We made a list of all the things we could do to put things right, these incluuded: praying, helping tidy up without being asked, donating something to charity or evengiving away some of our spending money.
Antonio, Theo and Bertie led us in prayer throughout the week. They planned a beautiful worship all about following. They had the great idea of printing a pray on footprints and giving them out at the end of their worship - beautiful. On Thursday, we visited the chapel to share the Gospel. Next week, our children will led their worhsip in this special place
GOING DEEPER IN CONVERSATION
Classifying objects. We had fun in science this week, we had a selection of items and we had to classify them. This menat we had to observe “like a scientist” then identify what was similar and what was different. We had to compare. Then we had to create a classifcation table and make labels of our own and sort. Mrs H took a picture before we removed the labels and went onto a new set of items. We were really good at this. Whay not play in the garden. While you are their collect 8 items and classify them - send a picture to share!
Here is a challenge to get you thinking!
MAGICAL MOMENTS OF LEARNING
We continued to find out more about the Wright Brother. They didn’t invent an aeroplane over night. They were real inventors - ask your child what other things they invented and built. In English we have explored homophones and the silent K and we’ve begun our research on Owls ready to write our own book about them. In maths we’ve done some very deep thinking as we’ve explore more complex addition and subtraction problems. I’ll include this on the homework next week. You can see from above we have been busy in science and RE too. The lovely Miss Drummond took us for computing as we explored spreadsheets and Mrs Mather remains one of the highlights of the week as we paint with her in art.

TRIP - MARTIN MERE
Parent Pay is now open for the trip and because I am taking the children away from the local environment I need your permission. Please complete the form below - only 4 children not without permission.
Finally, as part of our topic Amazing Birds an incubator with eggs will be arriving just before Easter. Hopefully these will hatch and little baby chicks will arrive. These little creatures will live in our class for 2 weeks. On the last day of term 2nd April we will hand them back to the company supplying them. However, if you would like to adopt a chicken and you have the space and facilities to house them you can have them for a fee of £5 (the company not school are charging). In line with DEFRA rules you will need to sign a form which guides you on their welfare before taking them. I have popped all this information on now, so that you have time to consider this offer.
Thank you - have the best weekend from the whole Year 2 team
